As part of our ongoing series featuring Best in Building Health award winners, we’re excited to recognize Cooper Carry as the Company with the Most New Fitwel Ambassadors in 2022!

Cooper Carry, a Fitwel Champion, launched an internal campaign last year to help their employees become Ambassadors, not only for personal enrichment and growth, but also to increase the firm's ability to add value to every project. Their impressive Ambassador cohort includes architects, designers, senior leadership, and more.

We asked Kyle Reis, President and CEO (and proud Fitwel Ambassador!), as well as the company’s employees about their investment in the Ambassador program.

How has the Fitwel Ambassador Program positively impacted Cooper Carry employees?
Cooper Carry is guided by a vision of resilient, equitable and sustainable design for ALL. Wellness and building health are key components of this vision. We encourage our team to pursue sustainability credentials because of the educational opportunity they provide. This program has equipped our people to champion wellness and sustainability in the spaces and places we design. We’re excited to use our knowledge and passion to better serve our clients and the communities in which we work, as well as to make a positive impact on the world.

How does committing to Fitwel at scale as a Champion help achieve Cooper Carry’s goals?
Cooper Carry believes in designing spaces that promote happier, healthier, and more productive people. The foundational knowledge of Fitwel’s healthy building standard is easy to understand and implement for both new construction and existing buildings – and being able to do this at scale as a Champion is a testament to our commitment. It’s also an accountability measure so that designers have the opportunity to employ the health-promoting strategies that they learn within their designs.

“When I learned about Fitwel, I was drawn to its evidence-based strategies that prioritize health and the environment. With Fitwel, I have access to resources that help me incorporate these strategies into my design process. This not only allows me to create healthier and more sustainable environments for my clients and building occupants, but also supports my personal values as a designer. I'm excited to promote the use of Fitwel in the industry and help drive the adoption of healthy and sustainable design practices.”

“I became a Fitwel Ambassador so I could reliably lead my firm and our clients through the Fitwel Certification process and help create better spaces in the future. Fitwel’s research-based and innovative design strategies will challenge Cooper Carry’s talented designers and myself to develop unique approaches to building design as it relates to human health, wellness and user experience. I am so excited to see what we come up with!”
