Generated by expert analysis of 7,000+ academic research studies, Fitwel is implementing a vision for a healthier future where all buildings and communities are enhanced to strengthen health and well-being. Fitwel was originally created by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and U.S. General Services Administration. The CDC remains the research and evaluation partner for Fitwel. The Fitwel Standard translates the global public health evidence base into practical, implementable design and operational strategies for stakeholders across the real estate industry. The Center for Active Design is the sole licensed operator of Fitwel, charged with expanding Fitwel to the global market.
About Active Design Advisors, Inc. (Adai)
Adai, a for-profit corporation, launched in March 2021 to propel the implementation of the Fitwel Certification system and healthy building platform. Adai operates Fitwel with its non-profit affiliate Center for Active Design (CfAD) which provides third-party certification. Fitwel sets the global standard for optimizing occupant health in the built world. Through rigorous benchmarking and certification of healthy building design and policies, combined with an integrated tech platform, Fitwel’s certification measurement tools and guidance generate ESG metrics and drives value across every aspect of the business. Adai is responsible for promoting and administering the Fitwel certification as it expands across key markets, as well as maintaining Fitwel's best-in-class customer service.
