What does Best in Building Health mean to you?
EFS: Best in Building Health is an honor and definitely celebrates my passion of bringing healthy spaces to people and organizations.

Why did you choose to become a Fitwel Ambassador?
EFS: I first heard about Fitwel through a colleague that is also very involved in workplace wellness initiatives. I chose to become an Ambassador to become more knowledgeable about the Program, and to better serve my clients and encourage our projects to become certified.

What is your proudest moment in applying Fitwel to projects?
EFS: My proudest moment was when Corgan won the Best in Building Health award for Highest Scoring Design Project of All-Time for Peloton’s New York City Office, last year as well as this year. Although Corgan was not the designer for that building, we were able to work with both the architect, A+I, as well as the Peloton Workplace Team to implement some new policies to go along with the building design.

What is your favorite Fitwel strategy?
EFS: I encourage clients to pursue the Dedicated Lactation Room and Quiet Room strategies. Most of our clients choose to incorporate a wellness room or mother's room into our designs — this has become more and more common recently — but it's still not something that is automatic. It’s very important to have a place where a new mother can use a private room and have it set up appropriately instead of being in a storage closet or another undesirable space. This strategy is very beneficial to the inclusivity of the workplace for mothers.
