Read on to learn Michael's valuable insights, including how the Ambassador program has impacted his career and how his expertise continues to drive value for global clients.

How did you learn about the Fitwel Ambassador program? Why did you decide to become a Fitwel Ambassador?
MK:
When I started at Verdani, this was the first credential that my supervisor suggested I get because we were already working on a number of Fitwel projects. I found it extremely helpful in learning about the Fitwel rating system, including its structure and certification process. Ultimately, I wanted to learn more about the health and wellness aspects of green building certifications, and the Fitwel Ambassador program provided an excellent, comprehensive overview.

What prompted Verdani Partners to seek Fitwel Certification for their clients?
MK:
Fitwel offers many common sense, practical health and wellness strategies that are accessible for the vast majority of our clients to implement.

How has being a Fitwel Ambassador impacted your life and career?
MK: I've become much more involved in the health and wellness side of the ESG industry, encompassed in the ‘S’ pillar, not only through certifications but also by learning about the technical aspects such as indoor air quality (IAQ) monitoring and testing and water quality management.

How do you use Fitwel to advance your company's or client's ESG strategy?
MK:
As a Sustainability Consultant, it’s critical to help clients and property teams understand the value of certifications – the value to both people’s health and at the same time, property value. Fitwel has not only helped to outline basic health and wellness strategies for the built environment, but also shows how those strategies benefit and improve the quality of life for building occupants through an extensive evidence base.
