Save the Date: Fitwel v3 Launching June 4th!
[New: Important update regarding the closing of v2.1 registration included below.]
The countdown begins: we're thrilled to announce that our highly anticipated Fitwel Standard version update, v3, will launch to the public in beta on Tuesday, June 4th!
Why the update?
Fitwel's strength lies in its extensive and evolving evidence base. From day one, the Center for Active Design (CfAD), Fitwel's operator, has been dedicated to surveying the deepening trove of public health research, and translating the latest evidence into actionable solutions to create healthier spaces for all. Since its launch in 2018, Fitwel v2.1, the current version, has demonstrated scalability, global relevance, and adaptability across multiple asset classes and types, not just meeting the market, but practically transforming it.
The v3 update showcases our commitment to innovation. For the past two years, CfAD has thoroughly reviewed the scientific literature to identify new strategies and adapt existing ones to align with recent findings on health, climate change, risk mitigation, and financial value. Incorporating over five years of user feedback from v2.1, the forthcoming update reflects our dedication to enhancing user experience. Following extensive crowdtesting with leading industry players and feedback from our global user base over the past year, v3 represents the next evolution of Fitwel. We will initially launch v3 in a beta phase to welcome further feedback post-public launch.

Important Update: v2.1 Registrations Closing
Added May 13, 2024
But this also means that it’s time for the next chapter in our evolution, and in order to make that possible, we’ll also need to close the window on the current version of Fitwel, v2.1. We are also announcing the final date to register and lock in v2.1 projects — July 15, 2024.
Here's what you need to know:
If you still want to certify your projects with v2.1
Your project may certify using the v2.1 standard provided registration and certification fees have been paid by credit card or have been invoiced through July 15, 2024*
If you have a v2.1 Built Certified project
Your project may recertify using the v2.1 standard provided registration and recertification fees have been paid by credit card or have been invoiced through July 15, 2024*
Built certified projects that initiate recertification after July 15, 2024 will be recertified using the v3 standard.
If you have a v2.1 Design Certified project
Projects seeking recertification that have received a Design Certification may be reviewed under the version of the Fitwel Scorecard in which the original certification was awarded, but also have the option of recertifying under the most up-to-date version (v3).
Your project may recertify using the v2.1 standard by invoicing the $500 registration fee, prior to your project’s expiration date, in order to recertify your Design pathway project to the same standard.
Eager to begin using v3? We’ll be announcing more information in the coming weeks, including information about an exclusive limited-time discount, so stay tuned!
