What motivated your company to pursue Fitwel?
RXR's sustainability and wellness strategy focuses on adding value rather than simply collecting certifications. We appreciate Fitwel's emphasis on the workplace environment, and going through the application process allowed us to confirm that our operational best practices are industry-leading while also identifying areas for improvement. Our stakeholders benefit from the work we've done, and Fitwel's recognition of our efforts is rewarding.

What advice would you give a team who is considering adopting Fitwel for the first time? What lessons were learned through the process?
If a better building experience is your goal, the Fitwel process will put you on the right path. Be open to the areas of improvement and do the work. Fitwel Certification supports our commitment to wellness, and it provides a platform to engage with stakeholders.

How are you (and the other companies involved) using Fitwel to advance your ESG strategies? Specifically, how does Fitwel support and enhance your efforts related to the 'S' or 'Social' pillar?
RXR believes in leading with bold ideas, striving for excellence, and cultivating trusted relationships. Fitwel Certifications and recognition help support our ESG program for tenant engagement. Fitwel provides the tools to show our customers how our best practices can benefit their experience while offering a roadmap for them to take the next step on their own ESG initiatives.

What are your ESG goals for 2024 (and beyond) and how have they evolved in response to market demand and regulations?
RXR’s ESG Committee is focused on understanding the ever-changing ESG landscape and our role as both an operator and as a fiduciary. Through benchmarking, data collection, and alignment with certain ESG programs and disclosures, RXR will continue to adapt our ESG policies to consistently add value for both our internal and external stakeholders in 2024 and beyond.
